“In 2009 I spent my sophomore year in Warwick, RI. I got to stay with the most wonderful host dad, Rob, who is still a big part of my family. We still keep in touch, and I know I’ll always have a home in Rhode Island whenever I come to the U.S. Last year, Rob came to Germany to celebrate his 50th birthday with all his exchange students, and we had a wonderful weekend. The experience of being an exchange student helped me to be more independent and more open-minded. I now study medicine, and I will be graduating in a few months.”
